Dear NU BREED family,

We are thrilled to invite you to a special signing event for three incredible athletes taking the next step in their volleyball careers. Amaya Keovilaysane-Ruiz, Quiana Gibbs, and Gabby Leon signed with college programs, and we couldn't be more proud of their accomplishments.

Amaya's story is particularly compelling. Amaya was always a standout athlete on her high school's Junior Varsity (JV) sports team. As a freshman and sophomore, her talent and dedication helped the team succeed, and everyone had high hopes for her future as an athlete. However, unexpectedly during Amaya's junior and senior seasons. Despite continuing to work hard and give her all on the field, her talent was no longer valued for unknown reasons. But instead of giving up on her dream of playing college volleyball, she attended practice at another location the next day to continue pursuing her passion. Amaya's skill set has helped elevate NU Breed's team play and court dominance.

Today, Amaya is still pursuing her love of sports, and her determination and resilience continue to inspire those around her. Despite her setbacks in high school, she remains a shining example of what it means to never give up on your dreams, no matter how difficult the road may be. Her determination and resilience have paid off, and we are thrilled to celebrate her signing with West Hills-Lemoore.

Quiana is making history as the first Summit Charter Collegiate Volleyball Team volleyball player to sign with a college. Quiana's impact on the volleyball programs at both Summit Charter Collegiate Academy and NU BREED cannot be overstated. At Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, Quiana was essential in leading the team to a League Championship in just three years. Similarly, Quiana's hard work and leadership helped establish the program as high-achieving at NU BREED. Her commitment to excellence and ability to motivate and inspire her teammates were essential to the team's success. Her dedication to the sport and her team have inspired us all. Quianna had the option of different college programs, but we are excited to celebrate her signing with the College Of Our Lady of Elms.

Gabby Leon from Lindsay High is another incredible athlete who has worked tirelessly to achieve her dreams. Gabby served as Team captain, was voted first-team all-league, and was a crucial leader in the playoff experience. Gabby was a founding member of NU Breed Rebirth. Gabby is an electrifying volleyball player with a rare combination of skill, work ethic, and competitive drive. When she steps onto the court, it's like a switch is flipped, and she becomes a force to be reckoned with. She moves with grace and agility, and her lightning-fast reflexes allow her to dig out even the toughest of serves and attack to keep the ball in play.

Despite being courted by some of the most well-known programs in the country, she has chosen to sign with Reedley College. We are thrilled to see her hard work and dedication pay off.

We invite you to join us for the signing event tonight at 7 PM at Reagan Elementary School in Lindsay, CA. College coaches will be in attendance to celebrate this special moment with us. It's a chance to show our support for these incredible young athletes and celebrate their accomplishments.

Porterville Recorder Mathew Brady will be attending to write a sports feature on this historic event.

We hope to see you there!

NU Breed is the future of history.

Sincerely,

Coach Job Lara, Director

NU Breed Volleyball

**My first attempt at writing this blog did not accurately reflect our athletes' impact and legacies in volleyball, so a second version was needed. I appreciate the feedback from friends that care and believe I can do better.

Thank you for understanding.
