REFUSE TO BE DEFINED BY SOMEONE ELSE'S MISTAKE

The mislabeling of the Indigenous people by Christopher Columbus as "Indians" is a prime example of how a simple mistake can have far-reaching consequences. This misnomer has perpetuated a false idea of the people and cultures of the Americas for centuries, and it's a painful reminder of how historical events can shape our world.

Similarly, coaches can also mislabel young athletes today. A coach's mistake in labeling an athlete can have long-lasting effects on their confidence and self-esteem. If a coach mislabels an athlete as "not athletic" or "not talented," it can create a negative self-image that can be hard to shake off.

However, like the Indigenous people who refuse to be defined by Columbus's mistake, young athletes can also refuse to be determined by somebody else's error. NU Breed, for example, teaches athletes to embrace their unique strengths and talents, work on their weaknesses, and refuse to be defined by someone else's error. They believe that every athlete has the potential to be great, and with the proper guidance and support, they can achieve their goals.

NU Breed coaches work to create an environment that fosters growth and development, where athletes are encouraged to take risks and push themselves to be their best. By doing so, they help athletes break free from any mislabeling they may have experienced and redefine themselves on their terms.

Ultimately, it's up to each athlete to decide how they want to be defined. They can choose to be defined by someone else's mistake, or they can choose to embrace their unique strengths and talents. With the proper guidance and support, like that provided by NU Breed, every athlete has the potential to achieve greatness.

Come home to NU breed, where we refuse to give false labels to athletes. NU Breed Tryouts July 29 and 30, 2023.

We are NU Breed, the rumor of something good.
