Felicitas C. Lara lost both her father and mother before the age of nine. Childhood, as most know it, was cut short. She was raised by her eldest brother and sister-in-law in a life marked by hardship and limited schooling. Nothing came easy—but she endured.

Years later, she traveled to the United States under unimaginable circumstances: alone, alongside her sister-in-law, carrying a one-year-old son and a baby daughter only months old. Soon after, tragedy struck again. She lost her husband in an accident and suddenly became a single mother of four.

What followed was not complaint, but action.

She cleaned homes. She took in ironing. She worked relentlessly to make ends meet. Eventually, she remarried and raised eight children, pouring herself into each with quiet strength and unwavering responsibility.

Later in life, Felicitas learned to read and write—proving that growth has no expiration date. She became a founding member of her local church, anchoring her family and community in faith. Through every season, she modeled honesty, integrity, and hard work—not as slogans, but as a way of living.
